Film vs Electrolytic Capacitors: Performance Comparison & Selection Guide
Film capacitors (MKT/MKP) are renowned for low loss, high insulation resistance and excellent temperature and frequency stability, with lifespans typically exceeding 100,000 hours. Aluminum electrolytic capacitors offer high capacitance and low cost, but have higher ESR and significantly shorter lifespans at high temperatures. For audio, power filtering and high-frequency applications, film capacitors are often the superior choice. Lixing Tech's film capacitor range covers MKT and CBB series from 1nF to 100µF.
